The Falmouth Commodores (4-1) return to Guv Fuller Field riding a three game win streak and a looming matchup versus the Hyannis Harbor Hawks (0-5) for the second time in three days.
Coming off a stellar performance from Jake Bird (UCLA) the Commodores aim to make it a four-game win streak and they’ll send Opening Night starter Brady Puckett back out to the mound. Puckett received a no decision in his first start against Chatham and was the victim of a couple tough luck infield hits and two Commodore errors behind him. Still he threw 4 innings, allowing 3 runs and walked none.
Overall the team pitching staff has compiled a 1.40 ERA in their first five games, good for the best in the league. The group hasn’t allowed an run in 19 innings, the last coming in the eighth inning against Warehem.
Puckett faces a winless Hyannis team that Falmouth shut out just two days ago in South Yarmouth. However, Y-D did leave 10 runners on base and had multiple scoring opportunities in the first, third and fifth innings against Falmouth starter Jake Godfrey.
Expect more new faces on the field for Falmouth. Today the team activated Dane Myers (RHP), Tristan Grey (INF) and Ryan Chandler (OF) all from Rice University. Grey and Chandler provide needed depth to the starting lineup and give Trundy more options off the bench.
Expected first pitch is at 6pm at Guv Fuller Field. Commodore Call Pregame starts at 5:45.
