Headlined by a trio of players from Lipscomb University, the Falmouth Commodores sed six players to the 2016 Cape Cod Baseball League All-Star Game.
Jeff Passantino, Michael Gigliotti and Tyler Lawrence all received starting nods in the upcoming All-Star game with Brady Puckett, Trevor Larnach and Tristan Gray earning reserve spots. Passantino, Gigliotti and Puckett all hail from Lipscomb University.
After leading the Cape League in Earned Run Average (0.52) Jeff Passantino will start on the bump for the West Division on July 23rd in Chatham. Behind him in center field will be teammate Michael Gigliotti and starting in the DH spot is Tyler Lawrence from Murray State.
Gigliotti is eighth in the Cape League with a .324 batting average and has played stellar defense in center. Tyler Lawrence is tied for third in the league with four home runs from the DH spot and has made multiple starts behind the dish for the ‘Dores.
Brady Puckett leads the Commodores with three wins and is second on the team with a 1.33 ERA. He will come out of the bullpen.
Reaching base in 22 straight games and leading the league in On Base Percentage (.424) earned Trevor Larnach (Oregon State) a reserve spot in the outfield. He also is tied for the league lead in walks with 17.
In his second season with the Commodroes, Tristan Gray from Rice University makes his fist All-Star Game appearance. His .323 batting average is second on the ‘Dores and he has played all over the infield since joining the team.
The 2016 All-Star Game is on July 23rd in Chatham at 6:05 p.m.
