HYANNIS — In a game where the Commodores could sweep their way into the second round, they turned to Florida’s Brady Singer.
Singer answered the call, continuing his spectacular regular season into the playoffs, pitched six shutout innings, allowing three hits and five strikeouts as the Commodores cruised to a 8-2 win and advanced to the West Division Championship.
Cole Sands, Stephen Villines, and Corbin Martin put the lid on the win in three innings of relief.
Michael Gigliotti had another amazing outing, going 4-5 with 2 runs and an RBI. His offense was backed by his exceptional base running grabbing another stolen base.
Matt McLaughlin (Kansas) chalked up another quality game, going 2-4 with an RBI double and a triple in the second game of playoffs.
Michael Cantu (Texas) put up 3 RBIs on only one hit but pulled through to put the Commodores up 2-0 in the second inning. The team is now 14-0 with Cantu behind the plate.
The Commodores are moving on to the second round of the 2016 playoffs for the second time in three years and will face the Bourne Braves at Guv Fuller Field on Monday at 6pm.
