FALMOUTH – The Commodores will travel to face rival Cotuit tonight, looking to pick up their first win of the 2017 season. Cotuit is 1-0 after defeating Bourne last night and the Dores are moving on from their 8-7 loss to Chatham.

James McArthur (Ole Miss) is the probable starter for Falmouth tonight and the Dores will need him to be solid after a rough start last night for Thomas Ponticelli. McArthur went 3-6 this spring at Ole Miss with a 4.73 ERA and 60 K’s.

Dylan King (Belmont) will get the start for the Kettleers. King, with similar numbers to McArthur, went 3-5 with a 4.07 ERA but recorded a very solid 108 strikeouts in the process.

The key to the game for Falmouth is to keep the walks to a minimum. Free passes were this team’s kryptonite in the season opener against Chatham and they can’t let that happen again. They’ll need precision from their pitchers tonight if they want to add a tally to the win column.

The Dores’ offense will be just fine. They were stifled at the start of last night’s game but they showed their offensive power as the game progressed. Speed from Davidson (Clemson) and power from Bechina (Michigan State), Daniel (Jacksonville State University), and Bohm (Wichita State) will carry this offense far this season.
