After a second week of Cape Cod baseball being back in action, the ‘Dores second Player of the Week for this season is Oklahoma native, Jace Bohrofen. The outfielder, who announced his commitment to the University of Arkansas on Saturday, has had a phenomenal second week of action.
Last week, Bohrofen finished by batting .340, collecting three doubles and two home runs. He has been able to impress offensively with his ability to easily hit the ball to all parts of the field, while also demonstrating a strong arm in right field.
Bohrofen was happy to hear that his sensational play thus far had been noticed.
“It’s awesome,” he said. “Just knowing that my hard work I’ve been doing up here by coming up early, hitting, and staying with my approach speaks for itself.”
Bohrofen has shown that he has been able to make changes in his game, allowing himself to compete in this difficult league.
“I got with coach [Brett] Becker as soon as I got here,” Bohrofen said. “I made a couple of adjustments with my swing, moving my hands back a little bit and getting started earlier so I can be on time for the heat in this league, and react to the opposite.”
Bohrofen plans to continue his current success by doing what he’s already been working on every day.
“By coming to the park and repeating that feel every day,” he said. “Not trying to do too much like overswing, so just kind of finding the right amount of reps to get me ready and where I need to be for that day.
Bohrofen and the ‘Dores will next play Sunday, July 11th in Falmouth at 6 p.m, from Guv Fuller Field.
