‘Dores Player of the Week: #4 Anthony Hall

Following a week in which the Falmouth Commodores finished with a four game winning streak, a standout player was outfielder Anthony Hall. The University of Oregon product was an offensive force for the ‘Dores after having an unbelievable week at the plate.

In six games of action, the lefty hitter posted a .364/.440/.545 slashline, hitting four doubles, driving in five runs and walking twice. Hall also demonstrated his strong arm from the corner outfield positions.

Hall said that he’s happy with his turnaround performance after a difficult start to his season.

“It feels good,” Hall said. “I started out rough out here but, I’ve been picking it up a little bit so it feels nice.”

Hall said he focuses on his preparation going into games and making sure he sticks to his mechanics.

“I think a lot comes from my prep work,” Hall said. “Me, Brett and Ryan have been practicing going the other way and hitting hard line drives, so a lot comes from the prep work.”

Hall also said that he has been utilizing batting practice to better his defensive game.

“During BP, I do take it seriously,” Hall said. “Tracking down balls, working on my routes, and getting live reads because that’s something I really need to work on. I’ve been doing that all summer.”

Moving forward, Hall said that he and the Commodores will keep finding success as long as they continue to do what they’ve already been doing.

“Just keep competing, having good quality ABs,” Hall said. “I think the whole team has been having quality ABs, which is helping us win, and the pitching has been awesome too.”

Hall and the ‘Dores will next play Monday, July 26th in Chatham at 6 p.m, from Veteran’s Field.
